Every Patent application sent to the U.S. Patent Office is accompanied by a Disclosure Document; a line drawing of the invention and a writeup describing what it does. My tech drawings for Disclosure Documents are done in Adobe Illustrator, in what is known as a 3/4 View. This way you see the depth, width, and overall dimensions of the unit at once. Simplicity is the key. These drawings can be rendered in full color, and Internet-ready for your marketing phase, but for obtaining your initial Patent a simple line-drawing is best. With a black and white line drawing one company can FAX your idea to others who might be interested. And we will describe your idea as simply as possible. After you get your patent, you will want to send your Disclosure Document to companies who might be interested in manufacturing your invention. Remember, these companies are busy; they don't have time to read through twenty pages of useless description ("fluff"). I worked for a company in Miami where each assignment came with a twenty-page description. This "fluff" was to make the client think they were getting a lot for their investment. Every time, after reading this description, I had to call the Patent company and ask what the invention did. I NEVER include fluff. A DISCLOSURE DOCUMENT cost $400 from me; drawing (s) and writeup. You will pay a well over a thousand from a Patent Company. As I stated on my index page, everything I do is GUARANTEED! I have done thousands of these Disclosure Documents, and NEVER had one rejected. Call me and we'll discuss your project. |
