Boiled Shrimp Recipe by Rudy Young

"Cajun Breakfast" by Rudy Young

Here is my personal recipe for BOILED SHRIMP. First you put your water on the heat and bring it to a boil. While it's doing that, throw in your crab boil, pepper, onions, garlic, and anything else you'd like to add to the flavor. keep in mind that the shrimp are only going to be in this concoction for about ten minutes, so whatever absorbtion's going to happen will have to happen during that time.

I've made water so spicy that people in cars going by out in the street were sneezing and running into trees. Another important thing to remember is that shrimp are born and raised in water that is 95 percent SALT, therefore they should be boiled in similar water. The best shrimp boiling water is a jug of salt water right out of the ocean. The next best thing is to pour in about half a box of regular salt.

I let my concoction boil about fifteen minutes, getting more potent with every bubble, and then I pour in the shrimp. Let them set until the water is boiling again, at which point the shrimp are usually done, but I like scoop out a couple at a time and taste them until they reach perfection.Like oysters, there is something spiritual about boiled shrimp
