PUBLISHED LETTERS TO THE EDITOR

George Bush may prove to be the smartest president we’ve ever had. Who else would have thought to blame the entirety of his incompetence and crimes against humanity on God? When his own father warned him not to invade Iraq, Bush informed him he got his instructions from a Higher Power. If we use Bush’s logic, this hideous president’s entire seven-year rein of ineptitude, which has literally brought America to its knees, can be blamed on God. Is God really misleading Bush, or has America fallen for yet another outrageous lie?
America loves a lie, the more outrageous the better. Half of America still believes Saddam had something to do with 9-11. Bin Laden was a religious fanatic and Saddam was a gangster; these guys hated each other. And when the lawyer for the Swift Boat Captains Against Kerry, while helping destroy war-hero Kerry’s presidential bid, had to resign for conflict of interest because he was also George Bush’s attorney; nobody paid attention; the lie was outrageous enough.
Since Bush is still in power, perhaps he does enjoy the favor of a Higher Power. But considering George Bush’s level, where everything else is up, perhaps we should re-examine the definition of Higher Power.

Bush is the enemy
Until Nixon was impeached I didn't know left from right or Republican from Democrat. Nixon was forced to resign, not for running his government like the Mafia, but for trying to cover-up the wiretapping of a political opponent's office. That's hard to believe by today's standards. Imagine what would have happened if Nixon had invaded an innocent country in which hundreds of thousands of innocent soldiers and civilians died, all for absolutely nothing, and under intentionally false pretenses. And what if Nixon had allowed his vice-president to profit personally in the millions from the reconstruction of the country he helped destroy?
We can no longer blame the madness of the Bush regime on the Republican Party. Bush and Cheney's crimes are far below the Republican Party's usual standard of immorality.
While the Bush years are sure to go down in history as the American dark ages, it can only be hoped that history will record that they ended with impeachment for Bush and indictment for Cheney. Forget censuring Turkey's centuries-old crimes, Democrats, the enemy is in the White House.

To end the Second World War Franklin Roosevelt backed the creation of the atomic bomb during a time when much of America still had outdoor plumbing. And when John Kennedy said, “We will go to the moon,” who would have though; in a short time we were there. From Roosevelt to Kennedy and beyond our Democratic presidents have always inspired miracles, and a miracle is what is needed to undo the damage done by the Republican presidency. Bush and his henchmen have not done one single thing to benefit America, and instead, through the Halliburton-generated Iraq War and imbecilic mismanagement at every level, have brought the greatest country in the world to the precipice of ruin.
With Obama as president I see a great revolution with synthetic fuel and wind-powered electricity, I see a worldwide Peace Corps stronger than the United Nations, the ill-conceived Iraq War coming to a swift and honerable end, and the trillions being wasted there poured back into America. Obama will accomplish this miracle by bringing the American people together, Democrat and Republican, and inspiring us all to do great things. And it would be my guess this time the black man will not be working in the kitchen. It is also my fondest hope that Obama will bring the Bush regime to justice once Bush can no longer veto his own indictment. And best of all, for the first time in eight years, I will be able to take my American flag from the trunk and let it fly, no longer ashamed of what it has come to represent.
When Americans can respect themselves again they will be able to respect each other.

Rudy Young: The second most important election
First order of business; indict Bush and Cheney

This year's election will not be the most important election in American history. That happened in 2004 when, in spite of George W. Bush having proved himself an incompetent, buffoon lackey of the oil companies, he was elected president.
The only good thing to come from seven years of Bush is his term was so bad America has sworn never again to elect a fool, and our next president will be as far removed from Bush as possible, even to the extent of electing, for the first time in American history, a woman or a black man president. It wasn't that long ago Barack Obama wouldn't even have been allowed to drink from the white man's fountain, and Hillary Clinton would have been assigned kitchen duty in the old Senate. But look at them now; proving that good can come even from the deepest well of madness.
It is encouraging to think that with an honest president America will begin to climb its way out of the obscene morass of corruption and lies created by the Republican Party and the Bush/Cheney presidency, and we might even see justice reinstated into the American way.
It is my hope that the first thing either Clinton or Obama will do as president, out of respect for the hundreds of thousands of soldiers and civilians who have died for Halliburton, and especially to ease the embarrassment our children must suffer when they read about the Bush years in history books, is that they will see the Bush regime indicted for their blatant, in-your-face crimes against America and humanity. For our country's legacy, and the pride of our children, our new president must not allow them to get away with it.

When George Bush was appointed president in 2000, many of today's young voters were 12 years old. They were still in junior high school. And six years later, they are still not aware that Katherine Harris and Jeb Bush purged voters from the polls in both the 2000 and 2004 Florida elections.
They don't realize that if a voter had the same last name, the same birthday, or a similar Social Security number to that of a known felon, that voter was not allowed to vote. The Republicans did not protest, but why the liberals weren't rallying in the streets can only be explained as shock. Never before, even in the Nixon era, have our elected officials so arrogantly abused the Constitution right in front of our eyes.
And now that these kids are old enough to vote, not only do we face two more years of a president whose legacy already lives in the annals of the mindless, but Katherine Harris, the purge of Tallahassee, may become our new senator.
I have a suggestion. Print out the text to the Constitution, frame it, and hang it up where your children will grow up with it. Let your toddlers first words be, "We the people..."
America may have lost her integrity during the Bush regime, but maybe in time our children will be the ones to bring it back.

While it is true Saddam was a bad man, America was never in danger from him or his pencil sketches of atomic weapons. We all thought he had chemical weapons, because history has shown that America gave him those weapons out of our fear of Iran. But even though none were found after months of extensive search, and against the advice of all experts around him, George Bush invaded Iraq with nothing to back it up but lies, grandiose ideas, and a fairy-tail concept of the Middle East. If Bush had expended the same effort and military might going into Afghanistan after 9/11, where bin Laden was thumbing his nose at us from the Tora Bora Mountains, as he did invading innocent Iraq, we would almost certainly have captured the evil leader and terrorism would have been set back fifty years.

Though the crimes of the Bush administration against the Constitution and America already fill volumes, the second most horrendous and un-American crime of all, next to the invasion of Iraq, is Halliburton. President Bush awarding billions in bid-free contracts to his Vice-president, to reconstruct the very country the Vice-president led the fight to destroy, is immoral. Dick Cheney will make millions in personal gain through his trust fund with Halliburton, while our children die so that this shameful arrangement can continue. Cheney profiting personally by the deaths of our soldiers is not only wrong, unethical and completely without ethics, it is obscene.

Letter to the Editor June 04. 2007

Some blame the Democrats for "blinking" on the war funding issue. Even if the Dems had cut funding for this unnecessary war, it would have hurt them in the upcoming election, and there would be no guarantee the troops would be coming home.

Any president who would continue a war based entirely on lies, a war that to any intelligent mind has been lost for years, and in which his own vice president is shamelessly making millions in personal profit through Halliburton, would surely have the troops stay in their exploding vehicles and fight with slingshots. Why can no one stop this arrogant, greedy, compassionless, simple-minded president?

No matter the crimes of his henchmen, it is President Bush who is in charge. It took the Republicans to help us get rid of Richard Nixon, maybe they will remember what their flag stands for and help America rid itself of Bush.

The only reason to tune into Fox News is to see who's advertising on that immoral station, so that you can boycot those products. I do. And I'll drive twenty miles out of my way and pay a dollar more a gallon before I will buy a single gallon of gas from Exxon/Chevron.

Always remember, the terrorists who attacked us on 9-11 came from Afghanistan and went back to Afghanistan afterward. We had bin Laden cornered in the Tora Bora Mountains, live on CNN, when Bush let him get away.

Gainesville Sun, Letter to the Editor, Jan. 15, 2007:

Truth is the virtue upon which all others are measured, and any venture based on lies is bound to fail. How many of our children must die before George and Dick figure this out.

But it appears there's nothing we can do. For the first time in history, the only way we can impeach our president is if we indict our vice-president first.itors.

How ironic that, after six years of cheating at the polls with programmed-to-win computerized voting machines, and hiding behind it all with the absence of a paper trail, the Bush regime’s crimes against America and the Constitution ended in Virginia when their only chance for survival came down to a recount of the votes, which was impossible because of the absence of a paper trail. What goes around comes around.

What are the Democrats going to do about the GOP's penchant for, and dependence on, computerized voting machines. I can program a digital machine to give my man 5000 votes for every time you push the button for your man. And I can run the whole thing from the other side of the world and have it neutralize itself as simply as turning a channel on my TV with my remote. Anyone who knows how to send an e-mail knows about DIGITAL and how easy this would be to do. Jihad, bin Laden, assassinate, bomb, explosives,

Among those who lied us into the Iraq war, and are sending our children to die for absolutely nothing, have you ever wondered who served their country?Jihad, bin Laden, assassinate, bomb, explosives, nitrate of soda, Bush, Cheney, traitors.
